Mission:
As an educator, my role is to help students discover a love for music and build musical skills from the ground up, regardless of age or experience.
I strive to build a strong musical foundation, emphasizing note-reading, rhythm,
sight-reading, technique, repertoire, and musicianship. I help students enjoy
the learning process by guiding them through the development of effective practice skills.
Though my focus is on Classical repertoire, I encourage students to explore a variety
of genres and styles with the musical skills they have already built.
I am determined to inspire students to form a lifelong affection for music
and to help them develop critical thinking skills, discipline, resilience, and independence.
Musical training is a team effort that welcomes teachers, students, and parents to work
together. In my studio, I highly encourage parents to attend lessons. This helps parents
support their child through musical successes and new challenges. Positive and
constructive feedback in lessons helps students grow as musicians and people. Through
musical trainings, students learn perseverance, patience and problem-solving abilities.
Meanwhile, an encouraging home environment maximizes musical growth and enjoyment.
In addition to teaching, I am passionate about musical outreach and enjoy connecting
with local families through performance. Joyful musical expression brings us together,
and I encourage my students to share their music with friends and family. I am always
seeking new opportunities to perform for and interact with local audiences, especially
potential young musicians!
